Charlotte Meldon is a visual artist who has worked with video, sculpture and printmaking.
Meldon works within the documentary genre, she focuses on Military history, her process involves using archival and hearsay research to use as material, usually working in a historian way. She has completed two video installations which explore documentary, characterisation, challenging display of an object, conversation and truth.
Her most recent project explores with the well-known abandoned T-34 tank which is to be found on a small piece of land on the corner of Mandela Way in Bermondsey, London. Part of this project lead to Meldon painting the tank in April 2017 back to its olive drab military colour. She also explored the meaning behind it’s affectionately nickname ‘Stompie’.

WORKSHOPS
9th, 10th and 11th July 2018 Canewdon Primary School All ages and classes Making cardboard type 22 pillboxes with camouflage designs as well as large weaved camouflage netting artwork which was then installed over a local Type 22 pillbox for a day. - This was to help the school achieve their Artsmark award.

A dazzle camouflage origami ship making activity; This workshop was open to all ages, young children were accompanied by adult, adults and older children were able to make the origami ships and the young children designed and coloured them in. The workshop was very successful; the total amount of children per day was 85 over the weekend.
